Horror: Rejected suitor butchers MTN worker, stabs victim’s mother

Image
The tragic incident of Sunday, April 24, was one that the family of Ashinwo, did not see coming. Had a prophet told Oluwatosin, her siblings and their widow mother, of the danger that lurked around the corner that day, it is unlikely they would have believed it. In fact, months after they all knew 45-year-old David Ogundele, an engineer, who was deeply obsessed with 30-year-old Oluwatosin, they had no idea they had a killer on their hands. But it is late to regret; Oluwatosin is dead after being stabbed multiple times by Ogundele along with her mother, who was trying to ward off the attack on her daughter in a flat she rented at Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State. As of the time of filing this report, Oluwatosin’s mother was still in intensive care at  a hospital in Ilorin where she had undergone a round of surgery to repair the extensive damage caused by the knife attack on her body. In fact, one of Oluwatosin’s brothers, told our correspondent th...

Marital crisis: My candid take on Tiwa Savage's reply - Channels Television presenter, Gbenga Ashiru

Image
While things have obviously gone messy between the couple, I feel my take can be quite instructive especially for young men and ladies who look at them as role models. There is always room for decorum, I wonder what they both stands to gain by telling the public what's actually mean to be their private affair. It's sad that a lot of marriage of convenience take place these days without realizing the implication that no matter how desperate you are for marriage you don't have the right to drag an innocent person (the Child) into such conspiracy. This is obviously a case of culture thrown to the dogs. I expected Tiwa though being a lady that she is plus the public condemnation her hubby's outburst had received to have exercise restraint rather than giving the public a free amusement show, the truth about it is that the public doesn't genuinely care, the reactions are just the nature of men to eavesdrop into the lives of others. Now this is...

She was Kissed by a Frog Who Didn’t Turn into a Prince’ | Charles Novia on Tiwa Savage’s Revelations

Image
Last night, social media was swept in a storm after singer Tiwa Savage’s interview with Azuka Ogujiuba was published by Pulse, and it since has dominated conversations on social media especially because of the shocking things she revealed about her husband, Tee Billz. Well,  movie producer and writer, Charles Novia, has reacted via an article published on his blog, Charles Novia Daily . According to Novia, the interview was completely tacky, poorly delivered, though Savage still has a right of reply. But the producer feels her PR machine failed woefully by not portraying Savage as the iconic singer she is; having her dressed in house cloths, with a scarf bound tightly round her head just to elicit sympathy, is a minus to her brand. “ This is a video which would be watched for years to come and even more so by her kid. Having tried so hard to be a Beyonce clone in Nigeria (and that’s my perception of her artistic projections all these years), she...

LASU lecturer denies wrongdoing in daughter’s death

Image
Rachael Samson Folarin :A lecturer at the Lagos State University, Gbenga Oyeniyi, says his insistence that his daughter must live with him was not what caused the death of the two-year-old, as alleged by the wife, Adenike. Gbenga said Racheal’s death on the same day he took her from her mother was accidental, adding that she died a natural death. However, after a disagreement between the couple, Gbenga forcibly took her on Monday, April 18, to his rented apartment on Jezza Street, in the Egbeda area of Lagos. A few hours after, Rachael reportedly fell into an abandoned well in the house and was recovered dead. Her mother, however, called on the police to investigate the matter, saying the death was suspicious. But Gbenga, who initially said he would not talk about the incident, said he did not kill his daughter. He said, “I have been married to my wife for four years now. Since we got married, we have been living separately. I live in Egbeda,  Lagos, while my...

Image
On Saturday April 23, 2016, popular Congolese musician Papa Wemba  died shortly after collapsing on stage during a performance in Ivory Coast. Media reports say the king of Rumba suffered an attack while performing at Festival des Musiques Urbaines d’Anoumabo (FEMUA) and due to lack of emergency health service at the venue of the concert, he died before he was rushed to the hospital. In reaction to the tragic event,   Collins Enebeli  – father of music producer and record label executive, Don Jazzy  – took to Facebook to share his thoughts and advise to promoters and event organisers on the need to provide healthcare service at concert venues. He wrote: ‘The sad news of the death of Papa Wemba is a wake up call for artists and their managers to see reason why promoters and event organisers need the services of healthcare service providers for artists while on engagement for their events to avoid preventable fatalities as this. ‘Most artists...
