No one involved in Sylvester Oromoni's killing will be spared - President Buhari

President Buhari has reacted to the controversial death of 11-year-old Dowen college student, Sylvester Oromoni, who died after he was allegedly attacked by some of his seniors at school.   In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari said no one involved in late Sylvester's alleged killing will be spared.   The statement reads;   ''For several days now, the nation has been gripped by the news of the tragic incident at Dowen College, in Lagos with morbid details constantly emerging of how our young son, Sylvester Oromoni (Junior) met his death. Singer Nicki Minaj went fully nude and straddled a giant teddy bear in new raunchy photos for her 39th birthday celebration.    The rapper shared a trio of eye-popping pictures to her Instagram as part of her brithday celebration on Wednesday December 8.    The first photo caught Nicki donning a pink wig as she held a birthday cake in one hand and covered her bare breast with the other.     The following snap captured the rapper straddling a huge teddy bear as she flashed a smile at the camera. RCCG pastor stabbed to death by new coverts in Lagos

A Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in FESTAC Town, in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State has been stabbed to death.   Pastor Babatunde Dada was killed inside the RCCG Chapel of Resurrection on 13 Road, 6th Avenue, FESTAC Town, on Thursday December 2. It was alleged that the Pastor was killed by two new converts who came to the church for the first time a Sunday before the incident, and also came out during an altar call to 'surrender their lives to Jesus.'   The converts who claimed to be stranded, were reportedly accomodated on the church premises, and they had barely spent a week in the church before stabbing Dada to death.    Wife of the pastor, Bose told  Punch  that she called her husband on the day of the incident and he promised to come home to rest.   She said;     “My husband was killed on December 2 at the church. Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega has raised an alarm of some corrupt judges 'selling judgements' when made part of election petition tribunals.   In his lecture at Owolabi Afuye Memorial Lecture organised by the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch as one of the events to mark its 2021 Law Week, the former Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, also said these judges who corruptly enrich themselves by selling judgments to the highest bidders, quickly retire to avoid being sanctioned by the National Judicial Council. Nollywood actress, Ngozi Chiemeke, shot dead in Delta State

Ngozi Chiemeke, a Nollywood actress, was fatally shot in Delta state.   The up-and-coming actress was shot at her POS shop on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, on Deeper Life Road, in Boji Boji, Owa, Ika North Local Government Area of Delta State.   Her killers are still at large.     The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said an investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to arrest the perpetrators.

Presidency says Buhari did not order sack of AEDC management

President Muhammadu Buhari has denied any involvement in the sack and replacement of the management of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC.   It had been reported that President Buhari sacked the management of the AEDC over poor operations caused by a workers’ strike.However, a statement signed by Garba Shehu, the President’s Spokesman, said the statement credited to the Minister of State for Power cannot be true.   "This cannot be true. Fake soldier with CIA card arrested in Edo

A fake military officer identified as Sunday James, has been arrested after intimidating and oppressing residents and traders in Benin metropolis.   The suspect was arrested by officials of the Edo State Public Works Volunteers, at Oba Ovonramwen Square in Benin, with a fake military identification card from the Civil Intelligence Agency.     PUWOV state commander, Mukhtar Yusuf-Osagie who revealed that James has been handed over to Oba Market Police Division for further investigation and prosecution, disclosed that he was arrested on December 7 following complaints from residents and traders in the area.    Osagie said;    Officials of PUWOV have apprehended one Sunday James for impersonating and parading as an officer of the Nigerian Army at the Oba Ovonranmen Square in Benin City. Six security officers caught on camera extorting passengers at Lagos airport

Security agencies including heads of military and paramilitary organisations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) have been threatened with sanctions by the federal government, over reports of extortion.   This is coming after the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) disclosed no fewer than six staff of various security agencies were caught on camera extorting air travellers. Managing Director of FAAN, Capt. Rabiu Yadudu in his speech at a training powered by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) and FAAN at the international wing of MMIA on Wednesday December 8, said details of indicted security officers will be forward to their various headquarters. He also disclosed that they will be alerting the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) for appropriate action.   Yadudu warned that action of these officers could lead to blacklisting of Nigeria by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

Kourtney Kardashian had some words for a fan who said she has done surgery.    An old photo of Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe was shared on Instagram and an Instagram user said Kourtney is the only one of the sisters who hasn't done cosmetic surgery.Another Instagram user, reacted, saying that Kourtney is not as natural as she seems. The user added that Kourtney has done many surgeries but she does the ones that make her look natural.   Kourtney responded, telling the Instagram user that it is a compliment that she thinks her body is surgically enhanced.

The judge also sentenced him to 15 years to life in prison for the death of the unborn baby, Conner. The sentences will run concurrently, the judge said.

A Nigerian dad, Mike Ekunno, has shared a letter he wrote to the Federal Government College, Abuja, following the repeated bullying his son was subjected to.   Ekunno shared what he went through as a parent in 2018 following the recent death of Dowen colleague student, Sylvester Oromoni, who was allegedly attacked by schoolmates.He posted a letter he wrote to the school principal in 2018 informing them of the bullying acts his son had been subjected to by some SS2 students since he got admitted into the school.   Ekunno said the withdrawal of his son was necessary so as to ensure he remains alive. He pointed that he pulled the child out without allowing him to sit his promotional exam ''Copy of my letter to the school authority over the bullying of my son. Police commence investigation into Dowen college student’s death

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 12-year-old Dowen College student, Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, in Lekki Lagos on Tuesday, November 30.   In a statement released on Saturday evening, the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, says the state Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the Maroko Divisional Police Officer under whose division the incident happened to commence an investigation into the matter.   The press statement reads   ''The Lagos State Police Command is not unaware of the reported death of one Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos which is currently going viral on social media. Dowen College shuts down school for two days following tragic death of Sylvester Oromoni

Dowen College has asked students of the school to stay at home for two days.   This comes after a student named Sylvester Oromoni Jr.  died after allegedly being tortured by fellow students for refusing to join their cult group in school.Dowen College has denied this allegation but Sylvester's family insists he was tortured at school and that he provided the names of his alleged bullies before he died.   The family also released a video of their son moments before his death to prove he was tortured (see  here ).   Dowen College has now asked students to stay home today, Dec. 3, and on Monday Dec. 6.   The school will resume after so students can write their exams next week.  

Navy release Instagram comedian Cute Abiola after weeks in detention

Actor and Instagram comedian, Abdulgafar Ahmad popularly known as Cute Abiola has been released from detention by the Navy.   Abiola had been in detention for violating some of the codes of conduct of the security agency.Recall that Abiola was said to have been missing on Monday, November 15, 2021, when his colleague in the comedy industry, Debo Adedayo aka Mr Macaroni, raised the alarm that he was no where to be found after reporting at his office in Navy Town, Lagos, that same day. In a statement released on November 17, Suleman Dahun on behalf of the Chief of Navy Staff said the comedian was not missing but rather was in custody for breaching the Armed forces social media policy. He was detained for posting a video of himself in military uniform on social media, an act that is said to be in violation of the armed forces’ social media policy. Mr. Sylvester Oromoni, the father of the 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lagos, who died after allegedly being tortured by fellow students for refusing to join their cult group in school,  has broken his silence.     In an interview with The  Cable , the distraught father who was said to have betrayed his emotions while he spoke, said his family watched their last child die in their presence. "Friend" of late Sylvester Oromoni claims the deceased was beaten by fellow students and the suspects have run from school

A child, claiming to be a friend of the 12-year-old boy who died after he was allegedly tortured at a private secondary school for refusing to join a cult, has spoken out.   The "friend" of late Sylvester is heard narrating the incident to an adult, including how they took Sylvester to the school's clinic.The child said one of those who allegedly beat Sylvester jumped the school fence and escaped and his parents didn't bother bringing him back to school.   Another student involved was allegedly picked from school by his family with a convoy.     Meanwhile, Sylvester Oromoni's family has released a statement, telling Nigerians not to stage a protest as some are planning.   The family said they fear "the owners of the school and parents of the bullies" may hijack the protest.They vowed that the Oromoni family will follow the case to a logical conclusion.      Sylvester Oromoni Jr was a Junior student at Dowen College in Lekki, Lagos, ...
