New Man U coach Jose Mourinho has assured players and fans that the team will return back to the glory days of Sir Alex Ferguson. Man U fans had gotten frustrated that the football at the club had become ineffective and slow Post-Ferguson era and needed a change hence the appointment of Mourinho as its new coach following David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal's time in charge.   But according to a report by Mirror UK, Mourinho has promised senior players at the club and fans that the style of football at the club will return back to the glory days and that he will bring through players from the youth team. 'The Special One has spoken to senior United players such as Wayne Rooney, David De Gea and Michael Carrick and outlined his plans for the coming season. 'And Mourinho made it clear there's going to be a departure from the slow, pedestrian build-up play that blighted their previous manager Louis van Gaal’s time in charge.' ...

Abuja based legal practitioner, Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe, has filed a notice at the Federal High Court Abuja withdrawing the suit he filed challenging the authenticity of President Buhari's Cambridge West African School Certificate WASC. Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe in the suit alleged that President Buhari did not sit for the Cambridge West African School Certificate WASC) in 1961 as he claimed. The notice for the discontinuance of the suit dated June 27th reads in part ;  “Take note that the plaintiff in this originating summons, Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe, hereby discontinues this action.” Although he did not give any reason for withdrawing the suit, Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe had in an interview with Thisday last month, alleged that some subtle threat to his life has been made as a result of the suit. As the controversy surrounding the alleged forgery of the senate standing order by Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy Ike Ekweremadu lingers on, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Babachir Lawal, in a statement he signed and released yesterday June 29th, asked the principal officers of the Senate to resign their positions or go and face trial peacefully. Babachir likened Saraki and Ekweremadu's trial to that of a former Speaker of the House of Reps who resigned from office after he was found guilty of certificate forgery. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Oby Ezekwesili, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, Senator Shehu Sani, have joined other Nigerians to mourn the death of former Minister of Transport and one time Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ojo Maduekwe, who died yesterday June 29th. The former Minister was returning from Dubai where he had gone for one of his sons graduation when he slumped at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. A man who has been cleared of rape still has to give police 24 hours' notice before he has sex and has threatened to go on hunger strike. The single man, in his 40s, admitted to previously having an interest in sado-masochistic sex and used to visit a Fifty Shades Of Grey-style fetish club with an ex-partner. He has accused North Yorkshire Police of "sour grapes" after his acquittal for rape at a retrial, having spent 14 months in jail.. The man is currently subject to a Sexual Risk Order which the force successfully applied for at a magistrates court. The allegedly drunk Nigerian woman, who was arrested on Monday evening after she created a ruckus near National Market, chased policemen who came to calm her down and bit two passersby, was discharged from National Institute of Mental Health and Neuros Sciences (NIMHANS) on Tuesday evening. Marian and her friend Yesudas Puthambara, who hailed from Kerala, had caused ugly scenes near National Market. Alerted by passersby, Upparpet police rushed to the spot and tried to calm her down but she chased them away. Finally, a few policewomen had to pin her down and tie her. She was taken to KC General Hospital where she was made to undergo tests and later referred to NIMHANS after she showed no sign of sobriety. Over 300,000 candidates applied for the 750 job positions advertised by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Director of Public Affairs of EFC, Mr Osita Nwaja, made the announcement in Enugu yesterday. Nwaja said that the recruitment was segmented and that the first phase of the recruitment exercise ended on June 26. He said: “We had more than 300,000 applicants that applied for the 750 positions which are in three cadres, junior, middle and senior cadres. We are considering a whole lot of junior staff so that they will grow in the system. The criteria were well spelt out and those that met them wrote the examination.”

Ousted chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen.
