I don’t believe security agencies can’t locate b@ndits - Fomer Chief of Staff, Tukur Buratai, says

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai (Rtd), has questioned the inability of security agencies to locate bandits in their hideouts, contrasting it with their swift tracking of ordinary citizens and social media influencers.
Speaking during an appearance on TVC, Buratai addressed growing public frustration over the impunity of criminal gangs who openly flaunt ransom money on social media. He challenged the narrative that these groups are untraceable, pointing out that intelligence and tracking capabilities used to apprehend civil offenders should similarly apply to locating bandits.
While appearing on TVC last night, Buratai was told that one thing that has constantly angered Nigerians is the level of impunity where bandits come on social media to flaunt the ransom collected from families of their victims while the security agencies have repeatedly show lack of capacity to trace them in their hideouts.
Responding, Buratai said
‘’I don't think they fail to locate. If they can locate ordinary citizens or social media influencers, I don't believe they cannot locate these bandits that flaunt their loots or their activities.''
Buratai said there is need for capacity building for all the security agents so they can work effective because bandits have deviced a new means to carry out their attacks and become emboldened in showing off their proceeds of crime.
