PoliticsLagos PDP faction suspends Bode George, 23 others

A faction of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has suspended a former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Bode George.

George was suspended along with 23 other members over alleged anti-party activities.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Friday and signed by the Chairman of the party’s disciplinary committee in Lagos State, Kayode Ogunbiyi, and the committee’s secretary, Desmond Agbo.

According to the statement, the action was taken after the party concluded that it could no longer tolerate activities capable of creating division and disaffection among its members.

The disciplinary committee said the decision followed its meeting of May 26, 2026, during which it reviewed a number of petitions alleging anti-party activities and violations of the PDP constitution.

“The decision to suspend George and other erring members was contained in the resolution of the meeting held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, where various petitions were presented against certain notable personalities and other members bordering on issues of anti-party activities and deliberate infractions of the PDP Constitution,” the statement read in part.

The committee also said it revisited an earlier disciplinary action reportedly taken against George by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and upheld the decision.
